Kirtland

I had the wonderful opportunity of being in a play done by our stake, called the Kirtland Pageant. I believe it was a pageant originally done in Kirtland, Ohio. It was about Joseph Smith, Emma, and the Saints moving to, then away from Kirtland.

I wasn't planning on auditioning for the show, but I was at the auditions with the Young Women in my ward and thought maybe I should. I called Russ to see if he'd be okay with it and he said to go for it.

I'm so glad I ended up doing the show! I met some wonderful people. Russ was so good to have Elliot while I was at rehearsals and performances.

Marty Reimchissel had the vision of doing this show in our stake. He was a wonderful person and liked having fun. He put so much time and effort into the pageant. Marty became hospitalized about 2 weeks prior to the show and sadly passed away last night. Thanks for everything, Marty:)

Feeling Christmasy

...It's the most wonderful time of the year... I really do love this time of year. Lights & decorations, baking, Christmas movies, activities & music, snow, hot chocolate, feeling warm & cozy, family, focusing on our Savior's birth.

We have been feeling quite Christmasy at our house. Russell put up Christmas lights on our house and around our front window, we busted out our decorations, we went to the Festival of Trees with my mom, and we decorated our tree. I'm looking forward to the rest of the month.

9 Months

Our little goose turned 9 months on November 26th! This is such a fun age. He is all over the place and keeps us entertained and laughing. He is also such a sweetheart and loves climbing on us and giving "kisses."

We spent Thanksgiving this year with Russ' family. His brother Scott & his wife Diane came up from St. George and stayed at our place. We have fun with them and loved having them.

Thanksgiving dinner was at Grandma Patsy's house in Provo. We had about enough food to feed a church congregation. So many appetizers, turkeys, desserts. It was delicious. We are so blessed.

Happy Halloween Part II

We spent Halloween night with Russ' family in Provo, at his aunt & uncle's house. We enjoyed hot soup, rolls, doughnuts, etc. I know Elliot is only 8 months old, but we took him trick-or-treating anyway. He went with his older cousins. Russ only lasted a few houses, but the rest of us continued on for a while. It was such a beautiful night to be outside!

We had a great Halloween this year. We spent the weekend before with my family in Logan. We had our annual Halloween party-hosted this year by the Ozmuns.

I found Elliot's costume at D.I. for $2.00 and we fell in love with it! It was then Russ' idea to go as a skunk family. We found some sweatshirts and Russ' pants at Savers, and with Russ' help I constructed our skunk costumes (using Elliot's costume as the pattern).

Our little guy turned 8 months old on the 26th! He is doing new things all the time. He climbs over everything, pulls himself up to his feet, says, "Da da", "Ma ma", "Ba ba", "Na na", & blows tons of spit bubbles. We love his big cheese smile & when he scrunches his nose and breathes heavy-kind of snorting.

We had a "Fall Fun" weekend with some of my family the weekend before Halloween. My sister, her girls, and brother came down from Logan and my dad came over as well. Friday night we made delicious caramel apples and Saturday morning we went to Petersen Family Farm in Riverton. It was awesome! Admission was free, which included a small cornmaze for children, hayride, a walk through the pumpkin patch, and a free cup of apple cider. We only had to pay for the pumpkins we picked out and other food items.

Wonderful Fall!

I love love love the Fall! There are so many reasons why. I love the changing colors, the smell of leaves, the crisp air, baking, pumpkins, decorations, Halloween. It's all so wonderful!

We went on a drive over the weekend with my dad. We took the Alpine Loop up American Fork Canyon. We weren't sure if it was too early in the season or not, but when we started driving we realized we went at the perfect time! The colors were magnificent. The sun was shining in the west, which back-lit the trees. There were yellows, oranges, reds.

We even saw a moose!

We had our windows rolled down during the drive and smelled "Fall." I love this time of year.

Little Getaway

Last week the three of us stayed in Park City for a few nights. Our first little family vacation! Before Elliot was born, Russ and I went to a time share-like presentation and got a free future week stay in Park City. We had a good time relaxing, enjoying the pool and hot tub,

doing Mask and a Movie (like our college days), and taking a beautiful drive around Deer Valley Ski Resort.

All this for 3 nights??

Our little angel turned 7 months yesterday. He is such a joy in our lives. His big smile with his wrinkled nose brings so much happiness.

Some things about Elliot Dixon:

Our little goose turned 6 months yesterday! It's kind of crazy when I think it's been half a year.. He is so much fun and has added so much to our family. He's a special little guy.

We celebrated his 1/2 birthday with a mylar balloon (which he loves) and a carrot cake. He didn't get to try the cake until today. I think he was a fan.

I stinkin' love being a mommy to this little boy! He is my buddy. He is so happy in the mornings and we laugh and play together on the bed.

Elliot loves being outside. If he is fussy and we walk outside, he calms down. We like taking evening walks as a family. His big blue eyes look around at the world around him. The American Fork River is close to our house and we often take Elliot there to watch and listen to it. He is mesmerized.

He is such a good baby. Hardly fussy. Loves to laugh and babble.

He has started rolling a lot, pushing up on his knees, and moving his legs all over the place. He moves around the floor.

He has been eating rice cereal and we've given him tastes of cantaloupe & other sweet unmentionables at my mom's house:)

He can sit up for a short while by himself.

He is such a joy in our lives. We sure love him.

(He moved himself here-apparently trying to get to the DVD player. Technology lover already..)

Now For Real

Last weekend we went camping for real! We met my siblings up Logan Canyon (thanks to Max for saving our spot) and set up camp. The guys got a fire started and thanks to Molly and Adam, we had amazing tinfoil dinners!

It was Elliot's first time camping and he did pretty well. We bundled him up, with socks on his hands. Soon enough they were both soaking wet with slobber, so he went without. Not to our surprise, he woke up early in the morning with freezing cold hands. I put him between Russ and I and we all went back to sleep.

I don't think I ever sleep well while camping, but we had a great time overall!

3 years

Russell and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary On June 13th. He really surprised me by planning an over-nighter in Park City. He arranged for his mom to have Elliot. We shopped at the Tanger Outlets, ate Mexican for dinner, and stayed at a great hotel.

The next morning we ate a yummy breakfast and went horseback riding in the hills! I loved it! I had been scared of riding horses because of past experiences, but this time was so much better.

We had a great anniversary. Thanks Russ:)

Our Summer So Far

We have had a good summer so far. It's hard to believe it's about half way over! Here are some of the things we've been up to:

Another weekend we went up American Fork Canyon with my dad, which was beautiful. We went on a little hike. Elliot likes being outside.

Elliot & I also spent some time visiting my family in Logan. Elliot had his first cookout/campfire up Logan Canyon. My brothers and Hillary camped over night, and me, my mom and Elliot went home at about midnight.

Happy 4th of July! We had another great 4th of July weekend in Logan. I've watched the fireworks on the grass below Romney Stadium for as long as I can remember.

We went to the Hyrum parade the morning of the 4th. It was Elliot's first parade.

Last week we had a big storm! I was walking around outside with Elliot and we felt some sprinkles. Then the three of us were out on our porch, when all of a sudden, there was the loudest CRASH of thunder I think I have ever heard! It was piercing! I think all of us were scared. There was lightning and rain started pouring down. There was so much water in our road.

After Russ and I put Elliot to bed, we thought we'd be spontaneous. We ran into the street in our bare feet and played in the rain! We had a little water fight & were both soaked by the time we came inside. It was a blast!

Last weekend was Steele Days in American Fork. Elliot & I went to the carnival (which was about a block and 1/2 from us) with some of Russ' family then lunch at Winger's afterward. They really do have great wings! We had a lot of fun.

Later that night we went back with Russ and my dad. Russ & I went on a couple of rides together. We both felt a bit sick after, but it was worth it.

Our little tyke is definitely not a newborn anymore. He is so big and impresses us with new things all the time.

We gave him his first haircut in May. He had a dark tuft of hair above his neck and some at the top, back of his head. We used my mom's trimmers and scissors to try and make it look decent. After giving him a bald spot, my mom helped us a bit.

He does so well in his BUMBO chair. He also tries to sit up a lot when he is not in the BUMBO.

He chews on just about everything, including Russ and I. Sometimes he really chomps down hard. We've wondered off and on if he has been teething..

I sure love summer nights! The air has finally cooled off, the sun isn't in our eyes, and the sunsets are beautiful. I love our little front yard that we can spread a blanket out on and relax.

One summer night in June the three of us (me, Elliot, and Russell) were outside and Russell was making Elliot laugh for about ten minutes. Russ would bark, Elliot would startle and laugh. It was so funny.

4 Months

Our sweet baby boy turned 4 months old yesterday! My, how this last month has flown by! We sure have been enjoying the smiles, laughs, snuggles, and "talking." Elliot tries to be a big boy by trying sit up, holding his head up strong, and letting out full-on laughs. I love being his mommy and Russ is such a great dad. We are so lucky to have this little person in our lives.

Yesterday Elliot was blessed by his daddy. It was such a special day.

He got his handsome outfit from his Nana. (She used to have an online children's clothing store and I picked it out years ago) Russ loved Elliot's cardigan.

Elliot had a nice surprise for us the other day... I had him on the floor and I felt that his back was wet. I figured he'd peed up his back, like usual. Well, this was much worse than pee! He had a major blow-out! I ended up throwing the onesie away. Luckily, the blanket was salvagable.

Easter Party/ Easter 2011

I threw an Easter party the Saturday before Easter. ( I think I may just make it a tradition). My sis-in-law and her kids couldn't make it, but Molly and her girls came. We had a great time.

First we dyed and glittered Easter eggs (and Molly made a tasty lunch for us: French Dip & carrot fries)

We went to Russ' grandparent's house in Provo for Easter dinner. It was the first time a lot of the extended family had seen Elliot. We had a delicious dinner & dessert (I ate way too much) and it was great visiting with family. I love Russ' family.

Farm Fun

Last Friday my sister Molly had the day off work. She and her girls came up and we went to the HeeHaw Farms to see the baby animals. (We missed Baby Animal Days in Logan) We dodged the Saturday crowds, which was nice. The kids were able to hold and play with the animals and there were no lines.

We finally took Elliot up to Logan! My sister Molly, my mom, and I took the kids to get pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids for my mom's birthday. We also got some singles taken of Elliot. They turned out very cute. (We got Elliot a handsome white polo and black pants from Children's Place.)

Conference Weekend

I love General Conference weekend. My little brother, Max spent the weekend with us because he sang with a choir at the Priesthood session.

In between sessions, on Saturday, Russell threw his tennis rackets in the car and said we were all going to play some tennis. (He played in high school and still loves it. He is a whole lot better than I am!) I packed a quick picnic and we jumped in the car. The weather was absolutely perfect for tennis and a picnic. It was so nice being outside!

It's tradition in Russ' family to meet at his parents' house, after Priesthood session for icecream. We upheld the tradition and Max even met us there. The cousins loved "Baby Elliot." Our nephew Spencer is hilarious and says funny things quite a bit. Tonight it was, "Max is really creepin' everyone out." We were dying!

Pregnancy Pedi

My friends Michelle and Brittney put together a pedicure night a couple weeks ago. We ate pizza and ice cream at Brittney's, then went to Shirodhara for pedicures. (Our husbands all work for CityDeals and got us gift certificates for Christmas). It was so relaxing and the ladies did such a good job. I chose red glitter polish!

I'm 37 weeks pregnant! I definitely feel big and I have been pretty tired at work. My legs get tired while I am assisting.

Russ & I are both anxious for our little guy to come. The other day Russ said that he just wants to hold him:)

We took a tour of the LDS hospital last week (that is where I'm planning to deliver). It was fun to see where we will be in just a few short weeks!

I am about 29 weeks along. I only have about 2 1/2 months left until my due date! Our little guy is moving all over the place. Russ is able to feel him a lot and we can both see my stomach do "the wave".

Snow Snow Snow

It snowed right on time for those of us traveling home from our Thanksgiving weekend... Boo. We should have left on Saturday to beat the storm, but I wanted to stay in Logan another day. (So, who's fault was it?)

We left Sunday, before dark. We were worried about Sardine Canyon, but that wasn't the worst part! The roads after the canyon and in Salt Lake Valley were terrible. It was a scary ride home, but Russ got us home safe. It took us about 3 1/2 hrs-crazy.

Oh Christmas Tree

We decorated our "Charlie Brown" tree a couple days after we got home. I love decorating the tree! We played Christmas music, as we used to when I was growing up. Even though, it's thin and uneven, I like it.

Over Thanksgiving weekend me, Russ, my brother Max, and my dad went to cut down Christmas trees! This has been a tradition for Russ and I since we got married. We got all bundled up and headed to the hardware store in Preston, Idaho in hopes to get two tree permits. We were lucky enough to get them!

With help from the map given to us we found a place to pull off and look for some trees. It was slim pickings, but after trudging knee-deep through the snow and hiking a bit, we found some that would do. Luckily, we remembered the saw!

(Max thought he'd use most of the time to build a snowboard jump and go off of it over and over. He seriously hiked up, with his board and a shovel and built a jump! The kid is crazy.)

Thanksgiving 2010

I have so much to be grateful for in my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ, a wonderful husband, a baby boy on the way, family, warm house, jobs, etc.

Russ and I spent Thanksgiving weekend in Logan. We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Ozmun's house (my aunt & uncle). Other guests there were my grandpa, his wife Tana, Uncle Derek, and his son Hunter. We ended up staying for quite a while. We ate chatted, ate, played Catchphrase, ate. The boys played Ping Pong- which Russ is really good at! He and my brother Max really got into it with each other.

One of the highlights of my Thanksgiving was my grandma's cheeseball! Me and my cousin, Kelsey LOVE it! My grandma used to make it for Thanksgiving. I was surprised to find Kraft Roca Blue cheese, one of the ingredients, at the grocery store this year, because last year it was discontinued! (Russ had found the "Roca Blue" recipe online and I was all prepared to make it, but was pleasantly surprised to find I didn't have to).

I'm thinking I ate way too much cheeseball, because I woke up in the middle of the night siiiiiiiiick with crazy stomach pain. It was absolutely horrible. My stomach was upset for a couple days after, but nothing like that night, thank goodness!

Disney on Ice

We had a Girl's Day and went to Disney on Ice again this year. Molly came to pick me and the girls up and we met Mom, Hillary, Aunt Chris, Kenna, Kelsey,and Henley downtown. After the show we got lunch at Jason's Deli and hung around the Gateway for a while. We had a good day:)

Niece Slumber Party

Molly asked me to watch her girls overnight the weekend before last. We had fun:)

Russ played lots and lots of Disney songs. We sang along and danced. Russ & Ev even played a Disney song guessing game where he would play the song and she would guess. I can't believe how many she knew! She also sang along to so many of the songs-so cute. She was very dramatic at times.

Sophie kept saying, "Ariel." I think she may have wanted Russ to play an Ariel song...

Russ made a deal- if he got his back scratched, he would keep playing Disney songs. The girls agreed. (He loves having his back scratched)

After the songs, we put a bunch of pillows and blankets on the floor and watched a Tinkerbell movie and ate treats.

I love October! Pumpkins, leaves, cooler weather. I got a couple of good walks/ jogs in before it got too cold. The streets by our new home were beautiful in October! There were so many crunchy leaves on the ground and there is one street that is tree-lined, which was beautiful when the leaves changed.

Russ and I moved last month...once again! Our lease was almost up, we needed a bigger place for the little addition to our family and Russ' work will be moving to Utah county. We are now in a twin home in American Fork, which is great! It has three bedrooms, a yard, and a two-car garage. How lucky are we?? It's been great.

My little brother, Max got home from his mission on September 9th! He served in the Brazil, Porto Alegre South mission.

We were so excited to have him home! All of us (except for Molly-she was running her daycare) were there to greet him at the airport with a sign, balloons, treats, and Mtn. Dew. My little nieces Evelyn and Sophie were excited for "Maxie" to come home. Soph even let him pick her up.

After the airport we met to eat lunch, then we all headed up to Logan to spend the weekend. Molly met us later that day. We had fun hearing mission stories and spending the weekend together.

Last weekend we had a little getaway to a place that I love- Stacie Dorius' family cabin, near Kamas. On our way to the cabin we ate at this cute little diner in Oakley. It's called the Rhode Island Diner and it was brought over from across the country.

Labor Day weekend

The weekend before Labor Day we were invited to stay over at our friend, Kiera's family's summer home near Eden. It was a great place. It's from the 1900's. The other guests were Mitch, Stacie, baby Ellie, Ryan, and Diane. We had a great time eating dutch oven, playing games, chatting, freaking Russ out (he doesn't love old houses), and picking fresh veggies from the garden.

Russell had an awesome date idea! He previously watched a how-to video online, then we made sushi! We thought I had to stay away from sushi, being pregnant, but he made sure I was okay with California rolls. They turned out so yummy! We actually made them again the next night with Russ' sister, Katrina and her husband, Chris.

I'm 25!

I celebrated my 25th birthday on August 10th! I can hardly believe I'm in my mid-twenties. Russ made my birthday special, like he usually does.

I got home from work and he had decorated with crepe paper throughout the kitchen area. He also had presents sitting out for me on the counter and we went out to eat.

Russ took me shopping for a new purse... I came home with 2! Do you like them??

In August we had a Kirschman family get together. We went to Sundance to see "Big River", which was a great show and we stayed a couple of nights at a cabin in Hobblecreek Canyon.

California Wedding

In July Russ and I flew out to California for our friends' wedding-Ryan and Diane. We flew into Long Beach and the wedding was in LA. We stayed near Santa Monica with 4 other friends: Mitch & Stacie Dorius with their baby, Ellie and Matt & Kiera Dorius. Russ was asked to be a groomsman. We were only in Cali for a few days, but we still had some free time and enjoyed ourselves!

We found this pretty beach on Friday.. it was just too bad the weather was cold!

The cool weather didn't stop these boys from jumping in the water! Brrr!

Mitch brought some boogie boards and they had a good time. (Meanwhile us girls stayed on the beach)

Russ decided to upgrade at the car rental booth and got a red Mustang. Don't the zebra shorts go great??

Ryan and Diane got married in the L.A. temple. It was a beautiful wedding!

After the ceremony we had some free time, so we again went to the beach! We went to Venice Beach, which is a crazy place). We got lunch, walked around, then layed about on the beach. The weather was warmer, which we were happy about!

After the beach, we got dressed up again and went to the reception. It was in the backyard of Diane's old seminary teacher. It was beautiful! There were booths with mini doughnuts, icecream bars, shrimp cocktail, cotton candy. There was a full dinner: BBQ and Asian take out boxes. (It was based off of a market in Washington, where Diane served her mission). There was a picture booth, dancing, and even outdoor heaters for when it cooled off.

Russ loves him some shrimp cocktail! He kept going back for more.

Russell and I are expecting our first baby!
We are so happy and excited. We have had two Dr's visits. We had an ultrasound at the first and saw pictures and saw the heart beating and yesterday we heard the heartbeat for the first time! It was as plain and day and we were both very excited! It's amazing!

One evening this summer we had a BBQ at our place. There are a couple of BBQs in the pool area at the clubhouse. Molly and her family came over, Tyler, our neighbor, and Dave & Jessica Adams joined us with there baby, Quinn. We roasted hot dogs, corn, chatted, played in the water (some of us). It was fun.

Girls Camp

In the middle of June I went to Girls Camp with the young women in my ward. (I was the Young Women president for a very short time, before our ward was split). It was stake camp and we went to a place called Star Point. It was very pretty there. It was hot some of the time and COLD some of the time. The girls were troopers and slept in tents every night, but some of us leaders stayed in a trailor named Marge some of the nights! The theme of camp was The Wizard of Oz (Our Zion).

There was a nice lodge for us to hang out in when it was cold-rough camp huh? There was also a kitchen/garage downstairs to keep our food and to cook in.

We went on a hike one of the days. We took turns shaking buckets along the way to make homemade icecream. It was delicious! Vanilla icecream with many a topping!

We had some free time so we did a craft. Kathy Fair (camp director) brought stuff to make cute ribbon flowers. We put them on headbands and clips for our hair.

For our service project we decorated the outside of boxes for the food bank.

We made adorable PJ capris for everybody. Each unit (2 wards) had a theme. Ours was Dorothy-hence the gingham fabric. We also had blue gingham bows, hair ribbons, and ruby slipper name tags for our bags.

This was the bishopric night. The bishopbric and their wives drove up and joined us for dinner and testimony meeting. We decorated the tables for them and wrote notes on the tablecloth.

After testimony meeting (the last night of camp) we got cozy in our PJs with blankets and pillows and watched the Wizard of Oz projected in the lodge. It was great!

Camp was a lot of fun! I was glad to go for the entire time this year. The girls are so cute!

MEXICO!

One of Russell's mission companions, Garrett and his wife, Gabbi invited us down to Mexico with them for a few days. He races dirt bikes and raced on a team with three other people in the Baja 250 in San Felipe. We had great time and I though it was totally worth the long drive there and back (although I did sleep a LOT of the time).

Russ has his 28th birthday tomorrow- March 1st. We celebrated a little early last night. I planned a surprise party for him at Classic Skating. He likes roller skating and used to go Disco Skating there every Saturday night with his buddies in high school.

I was so glad that Russ didn't figure out the surprise early-he is so curious! I told him last week to not plan anything for Saturday night, because I would be taking him out for his b-day. So, last night after we went to pick up a few groceries, I told him we were going to the DI to find clothes for Disco Skating. We had better luck at Savers. I told him it would be him and I and that we were going at a specific time because I had pizza coming. We found a few things from Savers then came back home to put our outfits together. When we walked into the roller rink a couple of his friends were in line to pay! When we went in further he kept seeing more of his friends. It was great. My sister had some tables reserved and ordered some pizza and drinks. It turned out great! So many of Russ' friends came. Some of us skated, some ate pizza and chatted. Russ was surprised and it was a lot of fun!

Valentines 2010

Happy Valentines Day! Russell surprised me this year with a Valentines weekend. We went up to Idaho to a Bed & Breakfast near Lava Hot Springs. It was such a great place! It was so cozy tucked in the mountains and covered with snow. It looked as though these people's house was made into a B & B. There were only three rooms and they had miniature horses, dogs, cats, and birds. The lady who ran it was named Sher and she loved her birds. They were noisy things and they totally talked!

After we got settled in, we spent some of the day down the road at the hot springs. It was so nice!

After the springs, we got some ice cream from a little shop and some allergy medication for Russ (he is allergic to cats) and we came back and relaxed. That night Sher and some others cooked a Steak and Lobster dinner for us and two other couples. There was a box at three of the places, for each of the ladies with a heart necklace in them. (I guess mine was kind of from Russ)
The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room with the other couples, then we packed up and headed out. I had such a wonderful time. Russ is such a good planner and he did so good at keeping it secret from me. Thanks sweetie!

New Years 2010

On New Years Eve Russell and I and Tyson and Lauren went to the Nickel Cade then came back to our place (our friend Jessica joined us) and played cards and ate treats. Adam and Hill came down from Cache Valley around 11:00. We counted down the New Year and celebrated with silly string. Russ went outside all by himself to bang a pan. Funny kid.

The next day Russ, I, Ad, and Hill ate lunch at Zuppa's (which is delectable), got cookies from a bakery, went shopping, ate fantastic Thai food for dinner, and hung out down town for a bit. We had a good time with them!

Christmas 2009

We spent Christmas Eve and the first part of Christmas Day with the Petty's. We went to see Avatar in 3D on Christmas Eve, which was really cool! Then we ate Cafe Rio for dinner. Yum yum. Russ and I and his brothers, Stu and Robert stayed over at Mama and Papa Petty's house.

Russ and I were able to talk to Max in Brazil! I didn't know if we would be able to, but Adam called us on his cell and they had him on speaker phone, so we were all talking. It was great to hear from him.

Before Christmas Russ and I did Initiatories at the Salt Lake Temple then we met up with our friends, Tyson and Lauren to look at the lights. It was chilly, but so pretty!

We had an early Christmas with our neighbor/friend Tyler. He worked on Christmas and his family was back home in Alabama. We got him a stocking filled with treats, a football night light, a Zen Garden and a Houndstooth tie (Roll Tide!) There is a lot of Houndstooth in Alabama.

We lent Tyler our miniature tree for his apt. and he found some old decorations from the previous owners to make his home nice and festive.

Ugly Sweater Party!

In December 2009 Russ and I threw an Ugly Sweater Party. We rented out the party room at the Murray Ice Rink. We had ice skating, refreshments, couple pictures with the Christmas backdrop (AKA: $5 fleece blanket from WalMart) and then we had a white elephant exchange, which was great!

We spent the weekend after Thanksgiving with my family in Cache Valley. We enjoyed delicious Thanksgiving leftovers (my mom is a great cook), stayed up LATE playing Monopoly, I ate one of my fav's-Costa Vida with my momma, while we watched a fantastic TV movie called "Love Comes Softly." I absolutely love watching a good movie with my mom, in the upstairs living room with dinner in front of us.
On Saturday me, Russ, Molly, Tom, Evelyn, Adam, and my dad went up to Idaho to cut down Christmas trees! The guys did the actual cutting, but we were all there for the adventure. There was actually quite a bit of snow for us to walk in, which was fun. While my dad and Adam were busy finding and cutting their trees, the rest of us got in a miniature snowball fight. We had a fun time!

A while ago I bought some great items from Michaels to make a wreath. (Michaels was one of my favorite stores this season) I thought it would be fun for me and my mom to make them together. When she was off work, we went to Michaels for things for her wreath. We found some great things! We made them on Sunday at Adam and Hillary's, while others were watching a movie. We had a good time! Russ and I spent Thanksgiving Day at his grandparent's house in Provo (Patsie and Papa). There was a lot of family there and we had a good time...and of course a lot of good food. I enjoy my Mother-in-law's family. Here are a few pics.

That evening Russ and I and his family went over to Bob and Dixie's to play the Wi. We ate treats (Bob raided the food storage and brought out a jar of mini candybars) and had a good time.

Last weekend we had our 3rd Annual Kirschman Halloween Party. It was great! My brother Adam and his wife Hillary hosted it again this year. There old place was perfect for a Halloween party. It was an old house with a lot of character. It's always fun to see what costumes everyone comes up with. Russ' costume was all his idea! (Can you tell who he is?? ha ha)

I enjoy October. It is a good time of year and we were glad to have some good weather!

One night Russ and I made caramel apples to give to some friends and neighbors. I was melting the caramel and it seemed to be taking a very long time (the heat wasn't too high, cause I didn't want to burn the caramel). Then, all of a sudden, the power went out! Dang! It gave us a fun excuse to hang out with some friends. Russ opened our door and there was our neighbor, Tyler standing there with his flashlight. He came over. (This is us pretending to be scared..or scary)

Our friends Dave and Jessica also came over a little while after, and we chatted over candlelight and flashlight.

The power was only out for about 45 mins, so Russ and I finished up the apples.

We went to our Tri-ward Halloween party/Trunk or Treat. I pulled out my leprechaun costume from last year and Russ was a tourist (he wore that nice outfit on our cruise).

We invited our friends Tyler to go with us and we gave him Russ' hat to wear.

It was fun. We had dinner (there were tons of different soups and chilis to choose from) and then we sent our trunks for Trunk-or-treating. We hung my little pumpkin quilt and had a real pumpkin. It was very chilly, but we got hot chocolate brought to us on a cart, which was great.

One evening our friends Tyson and Lauren invited us over for dinner and pumpkin carving. Dave and Jessica came too.

After a few tries...Russ finally came up with"FIND YOURSELF." Good ol' Russ

I stinkin love my cute nieces! I'm glad my sis Molly and I still live close enough to each other, and that we see each other often.
Russ and I watched the girls a couple weekends ago while Molly and Tom took a short trip to Zion's. It was a CRAZY weekend, but we had fun! I love these girls.

Sophia is 1 yr and so much fun! Three things I love about her:

*Her laugh! (It cracks me up)

*When she "kisses" me (she leans in with her lips to my cheek)
*Her snuggles (She is so precious)

Evelyn is almost 4 yrs old. She has been my little buddy since she was teeny. I truly love my Evie.
Three things I love about her:

*She is so smart/ when she asks questions
*The way she talks ( I wish I could capture her little voice

in a bottle...I think my sis, Molly has said that or
something like that before)

*She is a sweet pea!

Russell was teaching Evie how to be "cool". It was so funny! Ev totally played along.

I am glad my nieces have Russell in their life as well.
